Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She is an actress from Germany and Romania. Her best-known films include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her showbiz career early. Her roles included lead characters in dramas on television as young as the age of 16. Her portrayal of Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudl Jue, in Downfall (an Oscar-nominated wartime historical film) was both critically and commercially acclaimed. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are also Oscar nominees featuring female stars. Alexandra is well known for her participation in a variety of notable projects, both in the United States and internationally. One of these is the British biographical documentary Control, the Greek drama film The Dust of Time, as well as the French historical miniseries Napoleon.
